Origins of the Holy Grail

This green peak of the Eastern Pyrenees is Mont Verdera in Catalonia (Spain) above the Mediterranean. Its legends were the starting point of a decades-long study presented on this website, which required research in many European countries and the Middle East. Our findings reveal that the creators of grail romance adapted these legends to challenge Church doctrines and celebrate a Count of Barcelona in the ninth century. They also show that the early authors went beyond the modern understanding of the Holy Grail as a vessel for the Eucharist and featured instead the phoenix myth of Hesiod, the "Greek father of didactic poetry." But it takes two other Greeks, Plato and Plutarch, to help us raise these ancient veils...

and reveal the numerological and mystical significances written into these romances about a recurring astrophysical force that guides our evolution.
